Abstract
Air Districts SCAG (2009)

The California Air Districts layer is a polygon shapefile coverage representing the California air pollution control and air quality management districts, as defined in federal and state law. See 40 CFR, Chapter I Section 81, et seq., and California Health and Safety Code, Section 40000 et seq. Shapefile coverage. This data layer shows the air district boundaries and their names as of October 2009. The file has been updated using as main source the: California Environmental Protection Agency Air Resources Board maps (http://www.arb.ca.gov/capcoa/dismap.htm).

Air Basin Districts SCAG (2009)

The California Air Basins layer is a polygon shapefile coverage representing the 15 California air basins, as defined in state statute and regulation. See the California Health and Safety Code, Section 39606 et seq. and California Code of Regulations, Title 17, Section 60100 et seq. Shapefile coverage. This data layer shows the air basin boundaries and their names, as of October 2009. The file has been updated using as main source the: California Environmental Protection Agency Air Resources Board maps (http://www.arb.ca.gov/knowzone/basin/basin.htm)

The boundary file has not been changed since.

City Boundary (2010)

This dataset is preliminary and was developed by combining the 2010 city boundaries for the cities of: Jurapa Valley and Eastvale, with the 2009 boundaries for the rest of the cities in the SCAG region. The dataset is comprised of data collected from each of the 6 counties contained within the SCAG region. The data represents the city boundary for each of the 191 cities in the region. Data was obtained from county representatives between April and May 2009 to reflect the most current updates and annexations to the city boundaries. The original data sources were the local LAFCO offices

Congressional Districts (2009)

This dataset is one from a series of district layers pertaining to California Congressional Districts, that are derived from the California State Senate information. All data layers are reprojected in UTM projection. The following district layer is included in the series: congressional districts: Current California Congressional Districts based on the new district boundaries enacted into state law on September 13, 2001, and signed into law on September 26, 2001 for use with the March 2002 primary election. The boundary has not been changed since then.

The Dynamap(R)/Transportation ZIP Code Boundary layer is a cartographic representation derived from the most current information available from the United States Postal Service street delivery information. The Tele Atlas(R) database contains representations for all U.S. and Puerto Rico 5-digit postal codes and includes changes that have occurred within the preceding quarter.

Traffic Analysis Zones (2009)

The TAZ is Transportation Analysis Zones (Contains 4,109 records) for the SCAG Region. This TAZ was developed based on the 2009 Tiger Census Block that were relesed on 10/2009. The following approach was adopted to process the present TAZ file: a) The centroid from the 2000 census blocks was overlaid with the 2008 TAZs, b) Every 2000 census block was assigned and TAZ id, c) The identified relationship between 2000 census block and TAZ was transfered to the 2009 census block map, and d) The 2009 census blocks were aggregated based on their TAZ ID.

This dataset contains the Supervisorial districts within SCAG consisted of the: Imperial County Supervisorial Districts, Los Angeles County Supervisorial Districts, Orange County Supervisorial Districts, Riverside County Supervisorial Districts, San Bernardino County Supervisorial Districts, Ventura County Supervisorial Districts.

State Senate Districts (2000)

This dataset is one from a series of district layers pertaining to Southern California Senate Districts, that are derived from the California State Senate information. All data layers are reprojected into the CaSIL standard projection. The following district layer is included in the series: senate_districts: Current California Senate Districts based on the new district boundaries enacted into state law on September 13, 2001, and signed into law on September 26, 2001 for use with the March 2002 primary election.

Open Space (2010)

The California Protected Areas Database (CPAD) inventories open space lands that have been protected for open space uses through fee ownerships. A separate database tracks those lands that have been protected through easements and related less-than-fee mechanisms. This data is CPAD verion 1.4 and used the UNITS dataset that are aggregations of those parcels under common name, owned by a single agency and within a single county. CPAD 1.4 was released in Feb 2010.

Assembly Districts in SCAG (2000)

These data are intended for geographic display and analysis for California. They should be displayed and analyzed at scales appropriate for 1:100,000-scale data.
